Chrysalis Academy, a private year-round school, was founded by the owners of Play ABA and is located in Tempe, Arizona. Chrysalis serves children with autism and related disorders and is approved by the Arizona Department of Education.
Chrysalis Academy's mission is to provide a continuum of excellent services for people with autism spectrum disorder. Chrysalis Academy strives to improve the quality of life for their clients and families; they provide fun, motivating and developmentally appropriate interventions to individuals.
Curriculum Focuses on Academic and Social Skills. They have a 2:1 Ratio of Students to Staff. There is Weekly OT Consultation, Music Therapy, Certified Special Education Teachers and Speech-Language Pathologists. They are using ABA and Other Researched-Based Practices; programming Based in Part on the ABLLS, & VB-MAPP.
All staff members are ABA certified. Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) is a field of scientific study. Techniques used to successfully treat children with autism have arisen from research in ABA. These techniques include using principles of learning theory, reinforcement, motivational strategies and functional behavioral analysis. Programming for children with autism using ABA techniques includes data collection and analysis. Young children with autism participating in intensive ABA therapy programs have made significant improvement in language development, social interaction, academic skills and life skills.
