CAPA is a 501-C-3 Non-profit organization whose mission it is to raise funds to benefit children with autism and related disorders attending Chrysalis Academy.
Chrysalis Academy is a private school that receives numerous emails on a daily basis from families with children who suffer from autism, begging for admittance to their program. Sadly, at present, the school's full capacity is only 30 children. Due to such a high demand, Chrysalis Academy desperately needs to expand it's facilities.
CAPA is working to raise funds in order to purchase a new location. This will keep the burden of a large tuition increase from falling on the children's parents, as they already pay sizably for medical expenses, special diets, supplements and therapies. This in turn will also support our community and those families who wish to have their children attend.
Approximately 1 in 150 children are affected by Autism giving Autism the undesired ranking as the most prevalent childhood developmental disorder in the U.S. More children will be diagnosed with Autism this year than HIV, Diabetes and Cancer combined. Sixty-seven children will be diagnosed today - that is nearly 1 child every 20 minutes.
